Timing belts and chains, done on your drive
A timing belt is cheap. An engine that has jumped its timing is not, and it usually happens on the way to somewhere you needed to be. If yours is near its mileage, this is the job to get in front of.
Belt, tensioner and idlers together, because replacing the belt alone and leaving a worn tensioner on the car is how the new belt fails early. The water pump comes off with the belt on a lot of engines, so it is worth doing at the same time rather than paying the labour twice.
Tell us the car and the mileage and we will tell you whether it is a belt or a chain, and what the manufacturer's interval actually is for that engine.
Ronnie has worked on 2 of my cars over the past few years from timing belts and water pumps to shock absorbers and brake pipes
