Brakes, pipes and handbrake cables
Brakes are the one part of the car where the cheap option is not an option. If yours grind, pull to one side, or the pedal has gone soft, that is worth a phone call today rather than at the next MOT.
Pads and discs front and rear, calipers that have seized, corroded brake pipes made up and fitted, handbrake cables and shoes. Corroded pipes are the common MOT failure round here and they are a job that is far easier before the test than after it.
Everything gets bled and road tested before we leave. You should not be finding out on the way to work.
