Worn suspension does not stop the car working, so it gets ignored until the MOT. What it does do in the meantime is chew tyres and lengthen how far you take to stop.
Shock absorbers, springs, top mounts, wishbones, drop links, track rod ends and anti-roll bar bushes. If the knock only happens over one type of bump, tell us that on the phone; it usually narrows it down before we arrive.
Big jobs like a full rear end are a driveway job on plenty of cars, which is why the Evoque below never went near a garage.
